Association of British Theatre Technicians
The ABTT, an association for professionals working in the theatre industry. The association plays an active role in advising on safety on theatres and best working practices for their members.
Audio Engineering Society
The AES, is the only professional society devoted exclusively to audio technology. Technical standards are continually being developed under the auspices of the society. Many of them have since been accepted by international standards organizations as the model for their standards on the same material.
Institute of Acoustics
The IOA is the UK's professional body for those working in acoustics, noise and vibration. It was formed in 1974 from the amalgamation of the Acoustics Group of the Institute of Physics and the British Acoustical Society (a daughter society of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers). The Institute of Acoustics is a nominated body of the Engineering Council, offering registration at Chartered and Incorporated Engineer levels.
Association of Lighting Designers
The ALD is the professional body representing lighting designers in all fields in the United Kingdom and the rest of the world. It exists to provide a resource and forum for the discussion and development of artistic and creative aims amongst designers from the fields of Theatre, Television, Architecture, Education, Industrial and Corporate Presentation and Manufacturing.
National Association of Broadcasters
NAB is a full-service trade association which represents the interests of free, over-the-air radio and television broadcasters mainly in the USA.
Production Services Association
The PSA is the trade association for companies and individuals involved in the live event production industry. Our aim is to represent, improve, educate and develop the business of technical production for live events. This is achieved by pooling the knowledge of the entire industry to create a single voice for the industry and a central resource for its members.
United States Institute for Theatre Technology
The USITT is the trade association for theatre professionals in the USA. It runs conferences and seminars to advance the knowledge of its memebers and to improve working practices in US theatres.
